Market study on inventory reduction potential in the German industry
In 80% of the companies where we have carried out inventory analyses in the last 10 years, inventory savings potential of at least 20% could be achieved. Although material costs in relation to turnover have fallen in many companies in recent years, our project experience has shown that wastage in delivery readiness and inventories has tended to increase. Are our experiences representative? How high is the actual potential for reducing inventories in the industry? What about the delivery readiness levels?
In order to clarify these and other questions, Abels & Kemmner, together with the technical weekly magazine VDI-Nachrichten, will be conducting a market study on the current stock and delivery readiness situation in German industry over the next few weeks. For this purpose, we developed an analysis method which, based on a small amount of master data for each stock item, allows us to determine the current readiness for delivery and the existing excess stock.
Exclusively for Potentials subscribers, the specifications of the required data can already be requested from us. Take part and use our code number service. Alternatively, the two specification questionnaires can be downloaded from the Internet. Participating companies will receive the results of the study by e-mail free of charge.
