Short & sweet: Wagner-Whitin process

The Wagner-Whitin method is an exact method for batch size optimization with dynamic demand. In contrast to the approximation methods usually used in practice, it calculates the batch sizes exactly.

Our tip: Wagner-Whitin should therefore be the method of choice when determining economic batch sizes. Please note, however, that this process is also only designed for single-stage production without capacity restrictions.
