New delivery readiness benchmark

Minimum effort with maximum benefit for companies

Abels & Kemmner GmbH is currently preparing a logistics benchmarking project for launch in fall 2011. The highlight will be the largely automatic, very fast and convenient recording of key figures and the company-specific determination of very precise optimization potential. Companies benefit from minimum effort and maximum benefit and can register now.

Customers want comparative values

Standard or comparative values help with orientation and enable an objective comparison with others. This also applies to companies and also to logistical parameters such as delivery readiness and inventory range.
Dr.-Ing. Götz-Andreas Kemmner, Managing Director of Abels & Kemmner Gesellschaft für Unternehmensberatung mbH: “We are therefore regularly asked in discussions with companies what inventory ranges other companies in the same industry have, what their delivery readiness is like and whether others also require high safety stocks.”
Although Abels & Kemmner have a lot of experience from their projects, some of this experience comes from different economic situations. This makes an objective comparison difficult. “For this reason, we have decided to set up an inventory and delivery readiness benchmarking project. Data collection will begin in the fall of 2011,” says Dr.-Ing. Bernd Reineke, second Managing Director of Abels & Kemmner GmbH.

Automated data collection and indication of individual potential for improvement

The benchmarking initiative relieves participating companies that use SAP® as their ERP system of much of the work involved in collecting data: Using a modification of the A&K diagnostic plug-in, they receive a tool with which the data required for benchmarking can be extracted from the SAP® system and processed as automatically as possible.
Thanks to the survey and evaluation technology used, Abels und Kemmner can not only conveniently record and display basic data in the benchmark, but also carry out potential assessments. The plan is to determine the inventory reduction potential and the safety stock to be recommended according to the calculation (as a comparative value to the safety stock actually stored in the system) on a company-specific basis and to make them available to the participating companies as individual parameters.
Companies wishing to participate in the benchmarking initiative can pre-register free of charge and without obligation via the e-mail address benchmarking@ak-online.de and be placed on the further information distribution list.
