Follow-up report
What do users want from their logistics and scheduling system? This question was the focus of the first DISKOVER SCO User Day hosted by SCT GmbH on July 21, 2011.
Direct dialog between users and developers
“If we want to know what else we can do for our customers, we have to ask them. And when customers talk to each other, we get even more good questions that give us valuable information about customer requirements,” says Dr. Bernd Reineke, Managing Director of SCT GmbH.
“Specific requests or ideas for features or changes to the program are particularly important, as they help us to continuously develop DISKOVER SCO. This is the only way we can provide our customers with an optimum supplement to their ERP system,” adds Andreas Capellmann, second Managing Director of SCT GmbH. Customers had the opportunity to share their experiences with each other and to clarify questions and make suggestions for new DISKOVER SCO features in direct dialog with the developers.
“Not a tool, but a weapon”
The customers initially used the user day to praise the developers for the rapid implementation of requests and quick, competent help with potential problems. One of the planners and dispatchers present summed it up: “DISKOVER is not a tool, it is a weapon against excessive stock levels!”
Nevertheless, there were requests from users that went beyond the planned features of future versions of DISKOVER SCO. Specific topics that were particularly important to users were discussed in workshops and solutions were proposed.
At the request of the participants, the User Day will now be held every six months. Each customer will be the host once, so that users can get to know each other better and learn from each other.
