Controlling and operational monitoring systems

Controlling to tackle, learn and do it yourself

Dr. Horst Muschol: Controlling and operational monitoring systems
Dr. Horst Muschol: Controlling und betriebliche Überwachungssysteme – Ein Handbuch zu dem entscheidungsorientierten (internen) Rechnungswesen, insbesondere für KMU; M & S Verlags OHG Plauen (2016); ISBN 978-3-938590-51-5; Price: €29.90

There are several books on controlling and operational monitoring systems. Some of them are written at a general management level and, although they convey strategic contexts and significance to the reader, they do not provide him with any concrete tools. Others, on the other hand, are so detailed that you drown in theory.

With immense diligence and care, Horst Muschol has succeeded in providing a good overview of the three aspects of controlling, cost and performance accounting and risk management. Accordingly, the work is divided into three main chapters, called books, each dedicated to one of the three topics. The three “books” are sufficiently compact to serve as a reference work for practitioners or students. The three comprehensive indexes are extremely helpful in this context. However, the book is also sufficiently detailed to be understandable for the layman. The numerous calculation examples and calculation schemes make it very easy to understand the theory.

The book is therefore not only recommended for employees in small and medium-sized companies, as stated in the subtitle, but also for students and practitioners from larger companies who finally want to understand the interrelationships and the details with which they are confronted by their controllers on a daily basis

Really a great book that is fun to look up and read!
