We have been facing three major challenges for years: Climate change, demographics and international competition. In a global economy that is increasingly not only willing to perform but also capable of performing, and which has not yet eliminated its misery, we can only keep up with a given, comparatively high socio-economic level through greater efficiency. This is all the more true when politicians and the state prove to be extremely inventive when it comes to developing ever new regulations and legal restrictions that are unknown in other parts of the world.
