Top Consultant 2020: Abels & Kemmner

Herzogenrath/Aachen, June 19, 2020 – The management consultancy Abels & Kemmner has been voted one of the best consultants for SMEs by the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Management und Beratung and is now entitled to use the title Top Consultant 2020. The logistics consultants specialize in the optimization of supply chains in medium-sized and large production and trading companies and impress with their particularly high level of expertise in the field of supply chain management as well as their data-driven solutions for demand forecasting and detailed production planning, for which they rely on artificial intelligence, powerful rule sets and sophisticated demand simulations, among other things.

The award is the fifth in a row since 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. The main pillar of the Top Consultant award is the independent and scientifically based survey of clients on all key aspects of good consulting services in order to ultimately achieve the best possible client satisfaction. Among other things, ratings were collected on competence, seriousness and familiarity in dealing with corporate cultures characterized by medium-sized companies. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there was no official ceremony to present the award. Instead, Abels & Kemmner received a video message from former German President Christian Wulff (see below), who is a mentor of the Top Consultant Initiative.

“Thanks to our data-based analyses, we can precisely define optimization measures and measure in advance how they will work. As a result, we and our customers don’t have to take the guesswork out of implementing our solutions, but can implement them quickly,” reports Prof. Dr. Götz Andreas Kemmner, one of the two managing partners of the consulting firm. This is appreciated by its customers because the projects are practically self-financing thanks to the faster implementation.

At least 30 % increase in efficiency

But why is it important for SMEs to optimize their supply chain? On the one hand, because excess stock ties up unnecessary capital and causes unnecessary storage costs and poor delivery readiness leads to lost sales, contractual penalties or special expenses. Another increasingly important point: automated solutions relieve purchasers, dispatchers and detailed production planners of routine tasks. “There are individual projects in which we achieve almost 100% automation. The minimum value in almost all projects is a 30% increase in efficiency,” explains Dr. Bernd Reineke, the second managing partner of the consulting specialists. Skilled workers are in short supply – which is why consultants help companies to continue to grow with their existing staff by improving their ERP systems, if necessary. support through add-on systems and automate the supply chain to a greater extent.

Sound database

This approach is particularly popular with privately owned SMEs, regardless of whether they have 200 or 10,000 employees. “In many areas, SMEs today are far more dynamic than large-scale industry,” assures Prof. Dr. Götz Andreas Kemmner. It is precisely this dynamic that Abels & Kemmner’s methodical approach accommodates, as it allows for constant optimization and ongoing improvements. To do this, the consultants collect a sound database, simulate possible optimization measures, then select the best ones and support their customers in implementing them. Success is almost guaranteed – because the companies are not jumping in at the deep end, but have simulated exactly beforehand.
