Digitalization is already being used frequently in many companies. However, the important area of production planning, in particular detailed planning, is often still “left out”. It shows how better results can be achieved with less effort.
Digitization is not an end in itself: there must be a benefit behind it. There is always potential when digital technology can be used to automate processes and thus replace manual and cognitive activities. As a result, these processes are not only faster and less time-consuming, but also achieve significantly better quality results – at least for detailed production planning.
