Abels &Kemmner Group founds new subsidiary

Herzogenrath/Aachen, January 8th, 2020 – The Abels & Kemmner Group announces the foundation of the new subsidiary Abels & Kemmner GmbH Supply Chain Engineers. The focus of the new subsidiary is on the automation of supply chain management by means of mathematical methods and procedures. The Abels & Kemmner Group – which in addition to consulting business also includes its subsidiaries SCT GmbH (development of supply chain management software) and AWF GmbH (professional training of business practitioners) – is thus responding to the increasing demand for supply chain engineering tasks that include the use of big data analytics and artificial intelligence as well as automated ruleset engines, algorithms and simulations. The aim of the consulting services is to create the most effective automation of the Supply Chain, which does not accept compromises in terms of delivery capability, sustainable low inventories, throughput and productivity. In addition to these automated effects, customers benefit from the drastically reduced planning effort, resulting in substantially lower costs.

Prof. Kemmner, co-CEO of the Abels & Kemmner Group: “In supply chain management, the focus of our consulting has always been on the boundary between organizational processes and software support. In the future, organizational and mathematical as well as software-technical activities will still continue. In recent years however, mathematical methods have become increasingly important – and artificial intelligence is just one element of many. This trend will continue to intensify as we are on the way to automating the entire supply chain. In order to prepare our company group for this increasingly automated future and to further expand our competence in the area of highly mathematical supply chain engineering, we have founded the new subsidiary and have been able to gain a proven expert as a co-shareholder with Dirk Ungerechts.”

On December 20th, 2019, the company Abels & Kemmner GmbH Supply Chain Engineers was registered as a subsidiary of the management consultancy Abels & Kemmner Gesellschaft für Unternehmensberatung GmbH in the commercial register of the register court of Aachen. The German-Dutch Dirk Ungerechts was appointed Managing Partner of Abels & Kemmner GmbH Supply Chain Engineers, taking effect on December 20th, 2019. The co-CEOs of the A&K Group, Prof. Dr. Götz-Andreas Kemmner and Dr. Bernd Reineke, are co-CEOs of the new subsidiary.

Dirk Ungerechts studied Econometrics at Tilburg University and also completed his master’s degree in Econometrics and Supply Chain Management in Tilburg. After several years in supply chain consulting, he took over leading functions in supply chain management, among others in the pharmaceutical division at Johnson & Johnson as well as the Dutch-based Sligro Food Group (FMCG). Most recently, he worked as Group Director Supply Chain Planning at the UK-based Low & Bonar Group, where he was responsible for the group-wide supply chain planning and sales and operations planning processes. In preparation for the foundation and induction, Dirk Ungerechts has been a Principal Consultant in the A&K Group since October 2018.
