Short & sweet: Storage costs

Warehousing costs are all costs incurred in connection with the storage of goods. These include the provision and readiness of storage capacity and operational readiness of the warehouse, the execution of the storage process and its preparation and follow-up.

Our tip: Storage costs are generally underestimated. Two independent studies by Siemens and Abels & Kemmner show that the costs range between 19% and 30% of the inventory value.
