Short & sweet: Working Capital

Working capital is the part of current assets that is tied up in the procurement, production and sales process. A significant portion is required for the financing of raw materials, consumables and supplies, work in progress and finished goods and merchandise.

Our tip: A reduction of 20% in these inventories makes it possible to double cash and cash equivalents on average and reduce liabilities to banks by almost a third. Almost all companies have this potential to reduce their inventories.
