Short & sweet: Disposition parameters
The term scheduling parameters covers all logistics master data relevant to scheduling, such as batch size, planned delivery or replenishment times, as well as all setting parameters and control keys for scheduling procedures. Incorrect scheduling parameters can lead to drastic scheduling errors with significant overstocks, incorrect readiness to deliver or incorrect forecast values and can impair the competitiveness of companies.
Our tip: Therefore, regularly maintain the MRP parameters of your articles and ensure that the setting parameters and control keys are continuously adapted to the changing article status. For example, a new item to be introduced must be planned differently to a living item. A discontinued article also requires new disposition procedures. The SAP PP module offers around 150-200 different scheduling parameters for this purpose. A structured approach is therefore essential.
