The participants in our ‘Production Planning with SAP’ working group were once again able to take a lot away from the last meeting at OASE. From simple tricks, such as how to set up the customizing in the Warehouse Management (WM) module to automatically create transfer orders for stock transfer, to complex planning tasks to eliminate capacity bottlenecks with standard means in SAP ERP, everything was offered.
The newly gained knowledge can often be tested and implemented directly in your own company. Although the SAP standard has a lot to offer, it also became clear during this exchange of experiences that SAP cannot fulfill all of the participants’ requirements in the standard.
But there are numerous add-on tools that specialize in certain planning tasks. In particular, tools for forecasting and scheduling optimization as well as automated capacity reconciliation across any number of BOM levels were presented at the event.
However, participants will not only benefit from the specialist presentations and company reports, but also from the exchange of experiences in the workshops with numerous discussions.
It is particularly interesting to find out which paths have already been taken and have not led to the desired goal. You then no longer have to go through this (negative) experience, but can choose a proven solution right away.
In summary, the participants agree: experience is good – but the exchange of experience is better, if not priceless.
In the hope of being able to welcome you to one of our working groups in the future, I remain
With best regards
