SCM@building materials task force
to support leading building materials manufacturers and retailers in optimizing their supply chains. The focus of the newly created task force is on advising companies on the
digitization of the physical flow of goods
as well as in the
automation of management decisions
that trigger this flow of goods. At crucial points, the team will also rely on
Artificial intelligence
to make processes faster and better, and in some cases even possible for the first time.
“Supply bottlenecks and a lack of delivery reliability have been at the top of the list of causes for significant sales and turnover losses in the building materials industry in recent years. In a seasonal market environment, it has not yet been possible to match the delivery performance of other sectors despite unchanged overcapacities in production,” is how Hans-Peter Oßner from hpossner consulting sums up the problem to be solved.
