What challenges do we have to face on the way out of the crisis?
What long-term changes do you expect to see in the supply chain world?
These are two of the questions on which we created a survey and conducted it from April 20 to April 24, 2020 in order to obtain the broadest possible range of opinions on the expectations and hypotheses put forward. The survey was aimed at people from production and trading companies who work in the areas of production, logistics, supply chain management, purchasing and work preparation, as well as a smaller number of consultants who deal with logistics, supply chain management and lean management.
Let’s start from the beginning: How did this come about?
Now, in mid-April 2020, we conducted three online workshops with representatives from 23 member companies in collaboration with the German Association for Economic Manufacturing . In these workshops, we discussed and collected expectations and hypotheses on the development of supply chain management and operations on the way out of the corona crisis and after the corona crisis. This led to the idea of conducting a survey to explore the questions and hypotheses posed here with a wider audience. A total of 250 people took part in the event. We have presented and interpreted the results of these surveys in a study.
